FEAST OF ST ANDREW

The feast of St Andrew, on November 30th, will be celebrated at St Andrew’s School with Mass at 11.00am. As usual, all parishioners are welcome to attend this school Mass.

MEMORIES FROM WORLD YOUTH DAY 2008

More people gathered in Sydney for WYD than for the Olympic Games. The number of people attending the opening Mass was overwhelming: This Mass was a true highlight and the great Amen resounded with power. Readings and prayers were heard in many languages, the meaning of universal became clear. People knelt on concrete, huddled under foil blankets to keep warm, crowding together to receive Jesus. Brilliant Christian concerts were attended at Bondi Beach, talks about love and faith were heard. There was laughter, fun, patriotic face painting, communication between different nationalities, free hugs and awe when the city-wide Stations of the Cross were performed by professional actors and the whole gathering fell into silence at the crucifixion. Our faith is real and huge and evident in this world. The occasion was vibrant, exciting and powerful.

There will be Mass with anointing of the sick on Tuesday 24th November 1.30pm, at St Mark’s church, followed by refreshments in St Mark’s Parish Centre. Please let a member of the SVP or Carolyn know if you require transport on that
